Did you know these facts about wall spray painting?

Perhaps you already know a few of these, but here are some interesting facts that often come as a surprise:

1: A thicker coat than you might expect

Explore the options and our approach to professional wall spray painting.

A common misconception is that spray painting uses too little paint and leaves too thin a coat on the wall. That is not the case. We use as much paint as you would for two coats applied with a roller. Your walls receive a substantial, solid coat of paint, and the quality shows in the final result.

2: Around 80% of the time is spent masking

Before we can spray paint, we need to protect the surrounding area from paint and overspray. That means a lot of masking. It is not just window frames and doors that need protection, but also sockets, kitchens, floors, skirting boards and more.

We spend around 80% of our working time carefully covering every surface that should not be painted, so we can spray neatly up to the edges. The more care we put into masking, the better the finished result.

3: Your entire home can be sprayed in one day

It really can be that quick, but let us put that into perspective. Spraying a whole home in one day is possible under certain conditions. Usually, we allow two days. That is still very fast compared with painting everything with a roller. If your schedule is tight, spray painting is well worth considering.

4: Spray painting is surprisingly affordable

Spray painting is fast, and of course it comes at a cost. However, once the work is done, the whole job is finished. The price depends on the total surface area and your choice of colours.

For example, suppose you live in an apartment with 80 m² of floor space and want all the walls and ceilings sprayed. That would amount to approximately 200 m² of wall and ceiling surface. For this example, we assume the walls and ceilings are the same shade and that spraying takes place before the flooring is installed.

The total would be approximately €1,700, including VAT and all the work: masking, primer on new plasterwork, caulking internal corners and applying wall paint with wet scrub resistance class 1.
This is just an example. Would you like a price for your own project? Get in touch with us.

5: Spray painting is possible in almost any colour

People often assume spray painting has to be white, but wall paint can be mixed in many colours. Both soft pastels and brighter shades are possible. You could choose a warm, pale sand colour for the walls and a shade of white for the ceiling. You are not limited to RAL colours either: we can mix many shades from a range of well-known brands.
