How much does wall spray painting cost per m²? A price breakdown

Wall spray painting

If you are considering a smooth finish for your walls or ceilings, you will naturally want to know what spray painting costs. A reliable price is not one flat figure: the area, surface type and preparation required together determine the rate.

This article explains how the price is calculated, which tasks affect it and what to look for when comparing quotes. You will always find our current spray painting rates on our pricing page.

Why wall spray painting is often a smart choice

Spray painting is used in new-build homes, existing homes, commercial premises, shops and hospitality venues. Professional airless equipment allows large areas to be finished quickly and evenly, without roller lines or visible overlap marks.

For larger areas, spraying is usually more efficient than traditional roller painting. The final price still depends on the conditions on site and the preparation the surface needs.

How much does wall spray painting cost per m²?

ProLatexspuiten charges different rates for new plaster and previously painted surfaces. The total area also determines the pricing tier for a project. For prices, we therefore always refer you to our current price table, so you do not see an outdated or overly general starting price.

After assessing your project, we provide a clear, tailored quotation detailing the preparation required and the work included.

Which factors determine the price?

  • Area: larger projects allow us to work more efficiently, generally reducing the rate per m².
  • Surface type: new plaster needs to be checked, sanded and primed, among other preparation. Previously painted surfaces need a different approach.
  • Surface condition: damage, dirt or uneven plaster may require extra repair work.
  • Colours: multiple colours or accent walls require extra masking and cutting in.
  • Complexity and height: numerous corners, beams, high ceilings or hard-to-reach areas require more working time.
  • Protecting the space: windows, frames, doors, floors and fixed fittings are carefully protected.

Example: a home with 200 m² to spray paint

A home with 200 m² of new plaster requires a different rate and preparation from 200 m² of previously painted surfaces. New plaster is checked and prepared before primer and wall paint are applied. For existing paintwork, we assess adhesion, dirt and any damage, among other factors.

Our current pricing tiers show the base rate for the area and surface type. Any special requirements are agreed in the quotation beforehand.

What does our process include?

We take a complete approach, so you know what to expect. Depending on the chosen category and the condition of the surface, the work includes:

  • carefully masking and protecting the space;
  • sanding, caulking and local repairs where agreed;
  • applying primer where the surface requires it;
  • spray painting with SPS Easytop Extra Mat S1;
  • cleaning up and leaving the finished space tidy.

The exact work included and our current rates are listed on the pricing page and confirmed in your quotation.

Why can spray painting be more affordable than rolling?

Professional airless equipment allows large areas to be finished efficiently. On suitable projects, this requires fewer labour hours than traditional rolling. It also creates an even finish without roller texture or visible lines.

A low price alone tells you little, however. Compare the preparation, materials, coats and protection that are actually included.

When is wall spray painting worth considering?

  • When you want a smooth, even finish on your walls and ceilings.
  • When a home or commercial property needs to be ready for use quickly.
  • When you want a hard-wearing, extra-matt finish.
  • When you want clear agreements about preparation and handover beforehand.

Summary

The price of wall spray painting mainly depends on the area and whether the surface is new plaster or existing paintwork. Preparation, colours and complexity also matter. Use the current price table as a starting point and always have your specific requirements confirmed in a tailored quotation.
